Dariane Beamon is an organizer, visual artist, and arts educator from Oakland, California. She currently serves as the Education Programs Manager at the Museum of the African Diaspora(MoAD), where she develops programs that sit at the intersection of art, history, and community-based learning. Her artistic practice is deeply rooted in the political and cultural realities of New Afrikan people living under ongoing colonial Subjugation. Through visual storytelling, community engagement, and education, Dariane uses art as a tool to clarify the material conditions of New Afrikans in present time, while simultaneously envisioning liberated futures. She is committed to making art accessible as a form of both truth-telling and resistance, using it to amplify universal experiences of struggle, survival, and joy. At the heart of her work is a desire to cultivate collective unity and self-determination within New Afrikan communities, building pathways for shared learning, healing, and sovereignty.
